2021 LIGHTNING SPRINT SCHEDULE

Merrill, MI – 2021 Season looks bright for the fast and popular Great Lakes Lightning Sprints presented by Maxima Racing Oils! GLLS will be visiting 10 Michigan dirt tracks this summer, with 20 races spaced out over 12 weekends. There are 8 double header weekends and fou single race weekends.

GLLS kicks off the season on Friday, May 21 in Auburn, MI at Tri-City Motor Speedway. On Saturday we travel 52 miles east to the thumb of Michigan for our first ever visit to Silver Bullet Speedway.

We open June at Mt Pleasant on June 4th for our first of 3 visits this year. On June 11th we travel to Hartford Speedway for our first and only visit, where we’ll be running with the traveling IRA Sprints from Wisconsin. On Saturday, June 12th, we’ll travel back to central Michigan for our first of 3 visits to Crystal Motor Speedway. Then on Saturday, June 19th we make our first of four visits to Merritt Speedway.

Mt Pleasant Speedway kicks off our July when we arrive for our 2nd race on Friday, July 2nd. Then we travel west for our first visit to Thunderbird Raceway on Saturday, July 3rd. On July 10th, we make our first visit of 3 to Merritt Speedway. Then we’re back to Mt Pleasant on July 30th for our last visit of the season and we close out July on Saturday the 31st at Crystal Motor Speedway.

August brings us 5 races in three weekends, starting on August 6th at Tri-City Motor Speedway. On Saturday, August 7th we travel south for our first of two races at Butler Motor Speedway. On Friday, August 20th, we roll into Winston Speedway for our only visit of the season. Then Saturday, August 21st we travel north to Merritt Speedway. We close out August on Friday, August 27th at the Butler Bash at Butler Motor Speedway.

September marks the home stretch to our championship. Friday, September 3rd, we make our one and only appearance at I-96 Speedway then travel slightly north to Crystal Motor Speedway on Saturday, September 4th for our last visit of the season.

Championship Weekend opens on Friday, September 10th at Tri-City Motor Speedway. Then Saturday, September 11th we travel 86 miles northwest to Merritt Speedway where we will crown our 2021 GLLS Champion.
