Cascadden Secures 2nd Win of Season

Mount Pleasant, MI – Great Lakes Lightning Sprints presented by MacAllister Rental rolled in to Mt Pleasant Speedway Friday night with a full field of 20 sprints. Two time GLLS Champion, Brendon Cascadden, fought back from a tough qualifying round to win the Cheney Creek Construction Heat 2 and secure his 2nd feature win of the 2024 season.

The night kicked off with Jacob Sabaj (Corunna, MI) securing quick time with a 13.984 second lap around the small 1/3 mile track. Justin Ward (Benzonia, MI), Lindsey Erickson (South Boardman, MI), Jerry Napier (Durand, MI) and Bill Dunham (Boyne Falls, MI) rounded out the top 5 qualifiers.

Sabaj took home the heat race win in the Beacon and Bridge Markets Heat 1, with Noah Wilfong (Wayland, MI) and Napier rounded out the top 3 finishers.

In the Chaney Creek Constuction Heat 2, Cascadden, Dunham and Ward took the top 3 spots and Avery Neal (Brooklyn, MI) took home the win in the Double W Oil Field Services Heat 3, with Dalton Pipgas (Byron, MI) and Lindsey Erickson rounding out the top 3.

Cascadden starting 6th in the feature, drove up 5 spots to secure the win, with Sabaj and Neal rounding out the podium. Mack Erickson (South Boardman, MI) started 16th, but drove up 6 spots to finish 10th and secure the Operating Engineers Hard Charger for the night!
